Celebrating Our Pets - Horses Pet Stories - A tip on handling horses who kicks!

A good way to teach a young horse not to kick is to let them get used to being touched by using a glove on a pole. It eliminates the risk of injury to yourself, while letting the horse learn that being touched around the legs by people is ok. Even if they are a kicker at first, they will realize that the hand is not hurting them and they will accept it in a short while.
